In Memory of Peyton

age 14 | diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma

Submitted by mom, Catherine:

I will be lighting up in love and memory of my daughter, warrior angel Peyton! Peyton was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in September 2018, she was truly a fighter, warrior and one the bravest people I will ever know! She endured weeks of inpatient stays for chemo, nausea, pain and other side effects of treatment. She endured a major surgery that removed most of her right shoulder and then additional chemo and 6 weeks of radiation as the cancer was very aggressive. Never once did she waiver she fought and advocated for herself at every turn.

As we approached the end of May of 2019 she started to experience pain in her legs and back, sadly it was at that time we had scans done and got the news no parent wants to here, the cancer had spread to most of the bones in her body as well as into her organs and bone marrow. There was no cure, we would lose her. We fought to make sure that she had the best quality of life with her time left here with us. Peyton lost her battle with cancer at VCU on July 7, 2019. Through this battle she never lost who she was, her spunk, flair and oh that sass! Peyton may not have beat cancer but cancer did not beat her! We love you and miss you so much my sweet girl! Until we meet again I will live everyday for you like you asked and I promised! Love forever and always, Mom
