My son Alejandro was diagnosed with ALL ph+ on March 2021, he was 7 years old when he got diagnosed and he completed his 2 year treatment at Inova in Virginia, he was so strong during the whole process, he never lose his smile, he was always so charismatic. After his 2 years of treatment, he spent 9 months "cancer free." Unfortunately, cancer came back, so he had to get back to treatment, we were getting ready for a bone marrow transplant when a virus and infection attacked his body.
Unfortunately, at that time, his immune system was zero. He started a battle for his life for 2 months (he fought like a champ), winning his angel wings in April of this year.
I know that in the end, my son, my baby, won this horrific battle with cancer, and now he is in a better place, with no pain and no more cancer. On his name, I promise I will light up my home.
We need to keep fighting and creating awareness. I know that one day, all these kids will get better treatments and a better life. My heart is with all the kids that are still fighting and also with all the families that have lost a wonderful child. Kids deserve better.
